6°  Terre degli Elimi

Come si può notare chiaramente i numeri del nostro festival ci dicono che abbiamo costantemente migliorato la partecipazione ed il livello tecnico a fronte di un montepremi ancora modesto se confrontato con altri tornei italiani.

Nelle utlime due edizioni i progressi sono stati molto evidenti sopratutto per ciò che riguarda il numero complessivo dei partecipanti, l'elo medio dei primi 10 giocatori (livello tecnico) e la partecipazione degli stranieri che costitutisce forse il dato più significativo anche se rapportato alle primcipali manifestrazioni estive italiane.

 

As you can clearly see  the dates of our festival say that we have continuously improved participation and technical level with a prize pool still modest compared with other Italian tournaments.
In the latest two issues, progress has been very evident especially regarding the total number of participants, the elo average of the top 10 players (technical level) and the participation of foreigners chess players which is the most significant even when compared to the main events Italian summer.

 

In 5 anni hanno partecipato al nostro festival ben 53 giocatori titolati FIDE per la maggioranza stranieri fra i quali solo in un caso (Ljubisavljevic) la partecipazione si è ripetuta. Abbiamo ospitato maestri stranieri quasi sempre giovani e spesso per la prima volta in Sicilia.

Ricordiamo fra essi i nomi di Spirin, Epishin, Georgiev, Lazic, Sammalvuo,

Burg, Van Assendelft, Arnaudov, Iordachescu. Maiorov, Petkov, Levitt.

 

In five years they have participated in our festival 53 FIDE titled players for most foreigners, among whom in only one case (Ljubisavljevic) participation was repeated. We hosted foreign chess masters usually young and often for the first time in Sicily.
We remember among them the names of Spirin, Epishin, Georgiev, Lazic, Sammalvuo, Burg, Van Assendelft, Arnaudov, Iordachescu. Maiorov, Petkov, Levitt.

 

Un discorso a parte merita la partecipazione femminile qualificata che inizia con l'edizione 2012 con la presenza della campionessa italiana Marina Brunello, delle georgiane Sopiko Guramishvili e Nino Batsiashvili e raggiunge il top nel 2013 con ben 19 donne fra cui: Rudolf, Hast, Van Wersel, Martinez, Novak, Toma, Przezdziecka. Anche quest'anno presenze femminili di rilievo con le campionesse italiane Tea e Laura Gueci, la Vice campionessa europea U18 Amalia Aranaz Murillo, la WGM Maria Manakova e la polacca Anna Iwanow.

 

A separate mention deserves  the qualified participation of women  beginning with the 2012 edition with the presence of the Italian champion Marina Brunello, the Georgian Sopiko Guramishvili and Nino Batsiashvili and reach the top in 2013 with 19 women including: Rudolf, Hast, Van Wersel, Martinez, Novak, Toma, Przezdziecka. This year too there are important female presence: the Italian champions Tea and Laura Gueci, the Vice European Champion U18 WIM Amalia Aranaz  Murillo, the WGM Maria Manakova and Polish WIM Anna Iwanow.

 

Due le vittorie siciliane entrambe di rappresentanti del CPS: il maestro Valguarnera nel 2010 e il maestro Fide Amato nel 2013.
Da ricordare la partecipazione di alcuni tra i migliori giocatori siciliani: Ferro, Santagati, Sardo, Ganci, Ferrante oltrechè dei giovani talenti Pisacane, Bifulco, Morello, Grasso, Rizza, Iannello e degli Under 16 Marzaduri, Guccione,  Iannello, Favaloro, Piazza, Savalla ecc.

Infine due podii anche per il nostro club: Giacomo Bertino 3° assoluto nel 2010 e Matteo Auci 2° nell'Open C nel 2014.

 

Sicilian victories so far are two: the FSI chess master Valguarnera in 2010 and Fide chess master Amato in 2013. (Both of representatives of the CPS).
To be remembered the participation of some of the best players in  Sicily: Ferro, Santagati, Sardo, Ganci, Ferrante and, among the young talents Pisacane, Bifulco, Morello, Grasso, Rizza, Iannello and Under 16 Marzaduri, Guccione, Iannello, Favaloro, Piazza, Savalla etc.
Finally, two podiums for our club: Giacomo Bertino 3rd overall in 2010 and Matteo Auci 2nd in Open C in 2014.
